Let others be the judge of that. Just do it. And even if your novel doesn’t sell, you still have accomplished something few writers do, let alone the general public!
Fear can stifle almost anything! You are better prepared to create the next great American novel than most who attempt it. So keep calm and carry on!

I think he should try to weave in a completely imaginary tale about a South Florida wife and a supportive, if awkwardly curious husband, and their home-based business.
