Our monthly meetings are a wonderful opportunity for TAF members to gather in person to share information and good news. Since the association’s founding in 2003, we have met at a variety of locations around the capital city - including book stores, coffee shops, and restaurants. Each time we’ve moved, it’s because our numbers have outgrown the venue.
Our previous location has been good to us, but I’m happy to report that we’re on the move yet again. Starting in January 2018, TAF will host its meetings at the Hibernian Irish Pub and Restaurant, 8021 Falls of the Neuse Road, Raleigh, NC 27615. We will continue to meet at 5:30 p.m. for dinner, and the meeting's programs will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m.
Hibernian is eager to have us, and has extended the welcome mat in some awesome ways. Foremost, we’ll have the back room, which is large enough to comfortably hold up to 50 people. The room also has its own restrooms, and comes with flat-screen televisions capable of hosting PowerPoint – a nice benefit for our guest speakers.
The food at Hibernian is wonderful and features the usual Irish fare, such as fish and chips, shepherd’s pie and corned beef and cabbage, as well as burgers, sandwiches, salads and pub grub. Did I mention beer? Yeah, they have beer (it’s an Irish pub, after all). They can also accommodate vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free clientele.
Hibernian’s general manager is enthusiastic about hosting TAF on a monthly basis. As in the past, we will continue to meet on the LAST WEDNESDAY of each month, except December. Hope to see you there!
